'Girl with Bird's Nest Hair'

Happy New Year to you all and welcome to all the newbies!

I'm starting off the year by challenging myself to paint 30 paintings in 30 days in the month of January starting today.

Yes, you heard me right and they're all consecutive. *gulps, swoons and faints*

I may well be burning the midnight oil, juggling my day job and family life in general but hey, it's got to be better than doing the boring January dieting/exercise thing. Non?

Up first and on time (NB don't expect the other 29 to be as prompt) is -

It started off as a study of a little four year old and developed into this. Don't ask me how. (I must confess to doing this one in advance.)

And the bird?

Well I've the most incredible, untamed, curly hair in the World and this is just a perfect image to go along with my bird's nest mane.

There's nothing deep and meaningful about my art, it's whimsical and hopefully joy inspiring.

Maybe this will give you a wee taster of what's to come and an insight into what's going on in my head. (It's a bit messy in there but it's all me.)

Why not come along for the ride and follow my blog or even better, click on the 'like' button of my Facebook page where it all happens on a daily if not minute-by-minute basis and join my nearly 5000 faithful, some say long-suffering, but wonderful followers?

A word of warning - it's not your regular blog or your regular Facebook page. There's a lot of ramblings, anecdotes, random postings of art and the like but I can certainly promise to put a smile on your face!

I might need some moral support over the next 29 days and a nudge to keep me awake and painting...you'd be more than welcome. If you need persuading I can always try enticing you with a slice of my homemade triple lemon cake.

(Pssst! It needs updating...a bit like me so don't be put off by the Christmas thingies still on it.)

Heres' where it literally ALL happens. My Facebook page some would say a roller-coaster ride..
